Polyurea Bund Lining in Essex

Renovating A Disused Bund

During Autumn 2021 SLS applied a flexible Polyurea lining to a disused bund that one of our suppliers wanted to add some new tanks into.

The bund was painted, and the old epoxy lining had failed, SLS operatives grit blasted the entire bund to remove any loose materials and provide an etch for the polyurea to adhere to. Once suitably prepared the bund was primed using roller applied Polyurethane 2 pack primer followed by a 2mm seamless coating of Rocathaan 136T Pure Polyurea using our plural component spray machine. The bund was refurbished in as little as 3 days, this Polyurea lining system is perfect for outside bunds!

What Does A Bund Do?

A bund acts as a secondary containment vessel and must be used for any tank containing fuel or chemicals, or any other substance that is potentially harmful to the environment. In short, nearly all liquids apart from water should have a bund in place.

A bund should be capable of holding 110% of the liquid within the primary tank/vessel, leaving a safe margin for error should the tank leak its content.
