Hard Wearing Polyurea Bund Lining in the North East
SLS worked for a customer in the North East who had two large bunds with a combined capacity of 2500m2. The Bunds acted as secondary containment for a chemical known as Condensate which is a bi-product from Gas extraction. We opted for our Tough-Spray Polyurea Lining in this instance.
Due to the size of the containment bunds we would need to work in stages, and due to the quick drying nature of the Tough-Spray polyurea bund lining system we were able to get the project done in as little as 7 weeks. The staged process we utilised consisted of 4 key components. Firstly the area of the bund was thoroughly grit blasted, followed by a clean-up of the abrasive. The bund lining was then primed and the Tough-Spray polyurea bund lining was applied.
Polyurea really is the ultimate choice when it comes to lining secondary containment areas. It is UV stable, flexible, and abrasion resistant and is designed to be maintenance-free for up to 50 years.
