Essential Repairs Carried Out to Steel Process Water Tanks
Two stainless steel process water tanks for a large food sauce manufacturer in the North West of England needed a food process tank lining installed. The tanks were an essential part of the process of making the sauce, so it was a case of carrying the works out on two separate visits to minimise disruption to the companies output.
The corrosion of the tanks was a probe malfunction which had caused the level to drop and demanded more top ups which in general operation could be unnoticeable. Due to the prolonged exposure to more air and less liquid, the chlorine gas had been attacking the exposed passive film of the stainless steel, corroding the surface and causing pitting. They needed a method of lining the tanks that was WRAS/DWI approved and would give great performance. That product in this instance was Interline 925, which has a great track record in just these types of epoxy tank lining applications.
